How God Called Me to Argentina

 July 4, 2026

Dear ( name ),

I have recently started a new chapter in my life, and I want to share how God has led me to move to Argentina! At 19, I have experienced God in ways that have set the course for my life.

WHEN GOD CALLED ME

This is the testimony of my journey with Jesus, beginning the moment I said yes to Him and His plans.

I remember very little of my childhood because it wasn’t easy. I grew up without my parents and lived in several children’s homes. When I was seven, everything changed. I was transferred again, this time to another children’s home, but this one felt different. It was called Rancho Los Amigos, a YWAM El Paso–Juárez ministry. It became a new home and a new family for me.

During my time there, I first learned about God. I lived at Rancho Los Amigos until I was 18. As I was about to leave, I had to decide on my next steps, basically what I wanted to do with my life. I could either go to college or attend a YWAM Discipleship Training School (DTS), a five-month program with the goal of To Know God and Make Him Known. As I prayed and asked God what He wanted me to do, I felt Him clearly tell me to go to Argentina for my DTS.

In September 2025, I arrived in Rosario, Argentina. In every class, I began to hear God’s voice more clearly. He revealed something new to me each day. He healed many of my past wounds and taught me that I am His daughter and that He is my Father.

I realized that following Jesus is much more than simply knowing about Him—it means walking with Him every day. That was when God began transforming my life and instilling in my heart a deep desire to serve Him wherever He called me. My walk with God has taught me that following Jesus does not always mean having all the answers. It means learning to trust Him even when I cannot see the whole path. I have learned that faith and obedience always go hand in hand. Often, God does not reveal the entire picture. He simply asks us to take one step of obedience, and with each step, He faithfully opens the way.

After finishing my DTS, I asked God, “What do You want me to do now? Should I return to Mexico or stay in Argentina?” As I prayed, I felt God was calling me back to Mexico, but only for a season.

While I was back home, God and I had three goals: First, to invest in the lives of the children at the home where I grew up. Second, to build a team of financial supporters. Third, to trust and depend completely on Him. I spent three months in Mexico, and by God’s grace, all three goals were accomplished. There were moments of doubt, but I never forgot the third goal, which was the most important one: to trust Him completely.

I often asked God, “Why Argentina? Why that YWAM base?” His answer was beautiful. “I promised you a family. YWAM Rosario is your new family. I sent you there to plant and grow new roots. I am giving you a new field where your roots can grow strong. I want you to know Me more deeply. I am surrounding you with people who will lead you closer to Me. I want you to serve Me. There you will learn what true service looks like.”

At 19, God called me to leave Mexico and move to Argentina to prepare for a life of missions. It was not an easy decision, but I chose to respond in faith and obedience. I am still learning and growing, but one thing I know for certain is that God is faithful. He took my story, turned my pain into hope, and continues to write every chapter of my life. My desire is to keep walking by faith, obeying His voice, and sharing the love of Jesus wherever He sends me.

WHAT NOW

I arrived in Argentina on June 5. While I was in Mexico, God prepared me for the goodbye. It was not just a “see you later”; it was a sacrifice of my culture, my family, my language, how I used to live, my food, and my traditions. I was sad, but I was happy too because I knew why I was doing it!

After two days of traveling, I was back in Argentina, and it felt like home. Seeing everyone again felt like I never left. I felt happy because it was here in Argentina that God called me. Everyone gave me hugs, and the welcome was so refreshing.  I am getting adjusted to living here. I have 5 roommates:  Zoe, Micaela, and Dalila from Argentina, Hanna from Germany,  and Cristiane from Brazil.

I am getting to work in many different areas of the base as part of my orientation. Being part of the staff, not a student, is different because you see many things, both good and bad. It feels like a new season to learn, and I am looking forward to it.

As part of my orientation, I’m also going to take classes to understand the heart of the base, how things work here, and why.  YWAM Rosario is involved in many ministries that I am excited to be part of. One of those is AURORA, a ministry that helps women find beauty in themselves. We offer the women classes in sewing and makeup. In this ministry, I have helped with a few classes, and I have learned to used the sewing machine to make costumes for the shows of the art company. I am also looking forward to the Fall when I will be staffing the DTS that starts in September.

PRAYER

Please keep me in prayer:

  1. That I settle in quickly and trust God during the transition from student to staff and from living in Mexico to living in Argentina.
  2. That I find a church where I can attend, serve, and be fed.
  3. That I develop close friendships with those I will serve alongside and walk through life with.

I look forward to writing, staying in touch with you, and sharing what I see God doing here in Argentina through the base and in my life. My prayer is that my obedience will please God and that He will use it to bless others.

My contact information is below. Please be in touch! If there is ever anything I can pray for you, please let me know.

With a grateful heart, unwavering faith, and my eyes fixed on Jesus, thank you for walking this journey with me. I’ll see you in my next letter.
